Things I'm Loving This Week

Does this blog need an intro paragraph?

This girl's reaction to her own answer is how I feel half of the time I speak. If you haven't seen the Family Feud clip this is from look no further than HERE.
My new Rifle Paper Company case! I recently got an upgrade from my Iphone 4 to an Iphone 5s because a sweet sweet friend got an upgrade to an Iphone 6! She no longer had a need for said Iphone 5s and now I get to take higher resolution selfies on SnapChat all day! I got this lace overlay case from Rifle Paper Company and can't get over it. I just want to take mirror selfies all the time to show it off. I think there whole design is just amazing. They recently partnered with Lauren Conrad for her Paper Crown label if that tells you anything about their overall aesthetic.
You can check out RCP phone cases here.

This quote from Lupita Nyong'o's Essence speech still speaks to my soul.
".... my mother again would say to me you can’t eat beauty, it doesn’t feed you and these words plagued and bothered me; I didn’t really understand the meaning until finally I realized that beauty was not a thing that I could acquire or consume, it was something that I just had to be.
And what my mother meant when she said you can’t eat beauty was that you can’t rely on how you look to sustain you. What is fundamentally beautiful is compassion for yourself and for those around you. That kind of beauty enflames the heart and enchants the soul."

For those of you who don't know, I'm very adamant about being open and honest about your feelings. I've found that the more forthcoming I am about my feelings, the better things turn out. If the feeling was negative, after discussion the load seems to lighten. If the feeling was positive, after sharing it seems to grow larger. I found this Mr Rogers quote on Pinterest the other day and I just live it's so perfect!

This video is how I spent the majority of my weekend - filming and running around town with my hunky boyfriend, Myke D. He's currently doing the Genghis Grill Health Kwest. This was one of Myke's challenges for the Kwest - a dance video! Of course, he took it a step farther and turned it into a Rocky parody. I think this is hilarious and amazing so I wanted to share it with y'all!

I received this thank you note from the YWCA OKC on Saturday. I also found out yesterday that they sent my dad one for being my top donor! I'm so glad to be supporting an organization who is really involved in their community. They are the only certified domestic violence shelter in Oklahoma County. Oklahoma ranks THIRD in the nation for women killed by men for the last two years. YWCA Oklahoma City serves as a beacon of hope for those who are affected by domestic violence and sexual assualt looking of safety, security, and support. The YWCA provides job training and career counseling. Their mission is to eliminate racism and empower women. They provide safe places, build strong women leaders, and advocate for women's rights and civil rights in Congress.
After I received this letter I posted it to my Facebook and my donations went up to $410! I can't wait to blow their minds reaching my goal of $1,000! I can't reach this goal without your help. Every cent, every dollar, everything helps! If all my Facebook friends gave $10, I would have over $1,000 dollars in donations - throw in my fellow bloggers and Instagrammers? I can only imagine what we could accomplish for this organization! It's really amazing to think that we all really do make a difference.

If you'd like to donate to my 5K, HERE is the link :)

My Weekend

Happy Tuesday y'all! I guess this weekend was a pretty big one with Valentine's Day and President's Day on in one! I'd like to share with you how my three day weekend went! Friday night, Myke and I went for sushi for a pre-valentine's day date. Saturday Leahlove and I went to see 50 Shades of Grey and sat in the balcony! We had appetizers and drinks for our meal cause we do what we want! The movie itself was of course, not great, but the lady date was on point! We definitely were talking a lot during the movie, but luckily so was everyone else. When I got back home Myke surprised me with cheesecake stuffed chocolate covered strawberries... I live! They were absolutely amazing. We exchanged cards in secrecy, hiding them in the house for each other to find. I love writing people gushy novellas in their cards, but feel really uncomfortable watching them read them! Then we walked three miles because fitness. For dinner we ordered Thai and watched Idiot Abroad.

Pet Peeves

I have some things to complain about. Once I say them and get them out there then we, collectively, can move on. We don't have to talk about it anymore and I will be able to let it go.

Screenshots on IG - It drives me absolutely crazy when I get on Instagram and see post after post of screen shotted album art with the hashtag #nowplaying. Great, I'm glad we like the same band - post that shit on Twitter! Also, speaking of Twitter - please do not screen shot your tweets and post them on IG. If I wanted to follow you on Twitter, I would. I'm following your Instagram because of the photos you take. So post so damn pictures!

Leveling up a Tsum - I am not that great at Tsum Tsum. A good score for me is 600,000. It takes me a while to save up the 30,000 coins needed for a premium box. It is infuriariting to feel all the joy of buying a new box and opening it only to find a duplicate of one you already have. Then it levels you up. I'm going to be honest, I have no fucking clue what that even means. All I know is I don't have a new Tsum. I want my coins back, please.

Pimples - I have been on a "fitness journey" of sorts lately. This has involved lots of walking, moving around, sweating. Recently I've discovered because of all this sweat I've been developing pimples. Now, I know a lot of people who struggle with break outs and it is a frustrating thing for all of us; however, this makes my list because the pimples I'm finding are NOT on my face. Last week I had one in my cleavage and the one before one one my inner thigh! Not only are these harder to get rid of because I can't do anything to stop the chub rub, but they also hurt!

Myself - On Sunday I went through my old blog and read a bunch of my posts from when I was 20-21 years old. Now, this doesn't seem like that long a go, but four years made a HUGE difference. I'm in a completely different place in my life. Now, I am stable, reliable, in a loving relationship with myself and my boyfriend, actually have self confidence and respect for myself. So, why would I be irritated at myself you ask? Well, I've found that I was a hell of a lot funnier back I was living with my parents and making horrible life choices. Do I have to be in pain to make jokes? Was that my defense to the harsh world? These questions just piss me off. Can't I have it all - love and humor?

Songs that aren't on Spotify - I get it, okay? You're not making enough money and you deserve money. 100% sincerity, but you're making it really difficult for me to make the perfect playlists. How can I make a walk playlist that is everything I want it to be when I can't any songs from 1989 or FourFiveSeconds? Really though. I'm getting real sick of playing music videos on repeat.
