PopSugar UnBoxing

****Spoiler Alert****

The PopSugar Must Have Box for June was inspired by Sun-Kissed, Soft Skin, Papaya, Outdoor Fun, Coconut, and Yoga Warrior. I've been pretty impressed with all the Must Have boxes so far and this month was no exception.

The first thing I saw in the box was the Spongelle body wash infused buffer in Papaya Yuzu. Retail price $16. I haven't tried it yet, but it smells really delicious.

Next, there was the Pacifica Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette. The brand is 100% vegan and cruelty free. The colors feel creamy to the touch and are advertised as crease free. Retail price $14.

Next, came the SuperCandy by Snap Infusion. Suggested retail price $4 each. The gummy candy is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and electrolytes. Myke and I tried both the sour and the multiberry and they're pretty good! I was worried that they've have that weird sticky gumminess that gummy vitamins sometimes have, but they were soft and flavored nicely.

The Mandate Sunglasses by Quay Australia are some pretty standard Wayfarer shaped black matte sunglasses. Retail value at $45, I'm a little disappointed after checking out Quay's website and seeing such fun quirky sunglasses! We definitely got sent out the standard, boring, every one will wear these glasses. I know that's the safe bet but I would've much rather had a pair of the All Cried Out, China Doll, or even the Oslo!

Our "special extra" this month was a Sweet & Spark $30 Gift Card. The gift cards make me wary because last time they gave us one, it was barely enough to cover half of one item in the store. Sweet & Spark is described as Curated Vintage Jewelery - they scour flea markets and antique stores for one-of-a-kind vintage jewelery so you don't have to! After checking out their website, I would say that's a bit on the pricey side for me - ranging from $58 - $118 - and it's a lot of costume looking vintage jewelery. I found these black and white clip earrings that I like, but even with the $10 off they offer if you sign up for their mailing list and my gift card, they would be $38 plus who knows about tax!

There was also a head band from Yogitoes; retail value $4. It's wide, stretchy, and very comfortable. It's not my favorite thing in the box, but will probably end up being the most functional and used thing I got. They have all different colors on the website as well.

The last and biggest thing in the box was Judy Blume's In The Unlikely Event, her newest adult novel. This hardback at retail value is $27.95. I will give this a read simply because I have it! In the early 1950s, when Blume was a teenager, three airplanes crashed in her town within 58 days! Though Blume grew up amidst these events, it took her more than half a century to think about turning them into a book. There's also been hints that this might be her last novel.

All in all, I give this box a B+.
Price of box - $50
Estimated retail value of box - $140.95

Favorite thing in the box - Initially, I was most excited for the sunglasses, but after a week or so of working with the eyeshadow it is far and beyond my favorite. I love the colors, they have good pigment and really do brighten my eyes. I can wear them alone or mix them with some of my other palettes if I'm feeling really committed to the look.

Least favorite thing in the box - Probably the Sweet & Spark giftcard. While $30 does make a dent in the site's prices, the overall style of the products on the site just does not mesh with me as a whole. But I will keep my gift card and check back in a month or so, hoping they have some new stuff up!

 Until Next Time,
