bopoem 3

Fat free, hairless, tanned

Sounds more like a prize pony than my goal body

Until then - cover, conceal, hide

Don’t let anyone see your pale, fat, ugly -

And I never knew that I could love myself so much.

The feeling of twirling in a brand new dress

The weight of holding my nephew

The sound of my laughter, unbridled

The warmth of the sun on my skin

The sand between my toes

The sound of jazz in my ears

All infinitely more important than the size on my clothes
